  • Key takeaway: With one tap on the station map Chargeway provides drivers clear visibility at a public charging station for plug type (color), power level and charge time (number), real-time charger availability, and price

“Our mission at Chargeway from day one has been to simplify ‘electric fuel’ for every driver to help accelerate EV adoption,” said Matt Teske, Chargeway’s Founder and CEO. “Now with one tap on the Chargeway station map drivers can easily see what we in the industry know the public must learn: Can I connect my car here? How long will charging take? How many chargers are available? How much will my charge session cost? With our latest update to Chargeway users can now see ‘electric fuel pricing’ for thousands of stations at a glance.” These improved features are focused on driver personalization allowing each Chargeway users to add any EV to their account and see how much public charging costs for any electric vehicle they choose.

These new public charging price details within Chargeway perfectly complement the platforms vehicle specific station map and trip planner. To see total charging cost calculations on the station map Chargeway users can sign up for Chargeway Plus. Users can then either connect their EV to the app or adjust their EVs battery settings manually. As the EV industry continues to face an uphill battle with product messaging and providing drivers easy to understand information, these new price features along with Chargeway’s simple visuals for plug and power capabilities provide drivers transparency when browsing charging options and selecting the station that best meets their needs.

“With EV incentives expiring and consumers having more options to purchase either new or used EVs, the industry needs to be very focused on how we communicate why EVs are a great option, and that revolves around the electric fuel experience,” continued Teske. “Car buyers are not going to rush into dealerships to buy vehicles that run on a fuel they don’t understand or trust. Chargeway visually simplifies all aspects of the charging experience away from home for plug, power, price and availability. Making this simple is how we solve ‘charging anxiety’ and create consumer confidence in EVs.”

Chargeway’s intelligent and intuitive software has proven to reduce the EV learning curve through multiple partner programs throughout North America and now offers drivers a one-stop app for all their needs. The latest version of the Chargeway mobile app that includes these new pricing features for Chargeway Plus users is available for download in both the App Store and Google Play Store starting October 17th.
